Its Corona time. Eek.
Yes, the Corona Virus is really bumming us all out. But the chance to stay inside and self-isolate also gives us the opportunity to chill out and catch up on some great Netflix series. Maybe this isolation thing isn’t going to be that bad after all. We’ve got you.
Don’t Fuck With Cats
This docu-series tells the story of Luka Magnotta, one of Canada’s most infamous criminals who murdered Lin Jun. The documentary is told from the eyes of the Facebook group investigators who single-handedly took charge of an international manhunt. From start to end it leaves you gripping for more. Definitely a series that you will finish in one day.
If your wanting to watch something that will really make you think ‘what the actual fuck is going on’, you’ll get just that from Black Mirror. Each episode is completely different from the next, with different actors and directors each time. Each episode looks at how technology has completely consumed our lives and covers futuristic topics that you couldn’t even comprehend. Your jaw will drop.
Pretty Little Liars
You’ll have to get through 7, yes 7, seasons to finally find out who ‘A’ is but TRUST ME the wait is worth it. PLL really takes you back to high school in the times of boyfriends, bitchiness, drama and heartbreak. Plus, a bit of gore, crime and murder chucked in there. What more could you ask for in a Netflix series.
Love is Blind
There is no better way to describe this show other than ‘wtf’. If you ever wondered what would happen if you took a bunch of single guys and gals, put a wall in between them so they can’t see each other, and let them chat, I don’t think you’d guess they’d say ‘I love you’ after the third day. You watch in absolute amazement how two people can fall in love without even looking at each other, only to watch how they react when they live with each other in the real world.
If your wanting a bit of background entertainment or something to chuck on while you’re getting on with other isolation activities, Impractical Jokers will do just fine. Put simply, four best mates wonder round New York and find people to piss off and pranks to make. It sounds dumb, and it kind of is, but you won’t be left disappointed.
The Assassination of Gianni Versace
Arguably one of the best true, slightly exaggerated, story of Andrew Cunanan who shot the famous fashion designer Gianni Versace outside his house in Miami Beach. The very dashy and slightly dark series explores the twisted and eccentric character of Cunanan and how he spiralled. It’s completely binge-worthy and completely addictive. And if you love Blaine from Glee, you’re in for a treat.
Zumbo’s Just Desserts
Who doesn’t love a good cooking show? Something that’s a little light-hearted and full of beautiful Aussie accents. If you don’t know who Adriano Zumbo is, he’s best known for creating absolutely insane, creative and literally magical desserts. While you’ve got a bit of spare time on your hands, being in isolation, it may even give you the inspo to re-create his masterpieces yourself.
Netflix’s best sci-fi series is coming back for its fourth season, so if you haven’t started yet you’ve got A LOT to catch up on. Without giving too much away, this horror/psychological thriller follows four insanely cute and geeky children and a telekinetic girl with superpowers as they fight an inter-dimensional monster. Sounds odd but trust, the world went completely mad over this series so we know you will too.
Chances are you probably have already watched this series, but if on the off chance you haven’t, get on it. Its everything you need in a Netflix binge as a bunch of horny teenagers who are discovering what sex is about live their lives and get caught up in a lot of trouble in doing so. It’s funny, sad and weird at the same time. And, it will teach you things very apt for the situation we are going through right now (wash your hands, you detty pig.)
Everyone completely lost their minds for YOU. And we did too. If you love a psychological thriller then you have really got something coming for you. He’s obsessive, freakishly charming, hansom and a clever psychopath who becomes addicted to a girl at first sight. If that doesn’t appeal you, I don’t know what will. Trust me, you’ll be locking your doors after you finish with this… not that you can really go outside atm anyways.
