2021 SAG Awards: The Roundup

Following the 2021 SAG Awards, we roundup the award winners of the night.

This year marked the 27th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. It’s a celebration of the outstanding performances in film and television, which took place on the 4th April. Nominees in attendance were in full glam for the virtual celebration. 

SAG first announced the nominations back in February, via an Instagram Live, where The Crown and Schitt’s Creek received the most nominations – and we can totally see why.  

You may not feel like sitting through the hour-long ceremony to find out what went down, so we’ve listed all the winners of 2021 for your viewing pleasure: 

Television Award Winners

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries
WINNER: Mark Ruffalo, I Know This Much Is True.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries-Anya Taylor
WINNER: Joy, The Queen’s Gambit.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series
WINNER: Jason Bateman, Ozark.

Huda Beauty

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series
The nominees for this award were all from either The Crown or Ozark.
WINNER:  Gillian Anderson, The Crown.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series
Two nominees for this award were actors from Schitt’s Creek, Dan Levy and Eugene Levy. 
WINNER: Jason Sudeikis, Ted Lasso.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series
Nominations for this award were all actors from either Dead To Me, Schitt’s Creek or The Flight Attendant.
WINNER: Catherine O’Hara, Schitt’s Creek.

Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series
The shows nominated for this award were Dead to Me, The Flight Attendant, The Great, Schitt’s Creek and Ted Lasso. 
WINNER: Schitt’s Creek.

Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series
The shows nominated for this award were Better Call Saul, Brigerton, The Crown and Lovecraft Country and Ozark. 
WINNER: The Crown.

Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series
The nominations for this award were The Boys, Cobra Kai, Lovecraft Country, The Mandalorian and Westworld. 
WINNER: The Mandalorian.

Motion Picture Awards

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role
WINNER: Viola Davis, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role
WINNER: Chadwick Boseman, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role
WINNER: Yuh-Jung Youn, Minari.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role
WINNER: Daniel Kaluuya, Judas and the Black Messiah.

Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
The nominations were Da 5 Bloods, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Minari, One Night in Miami and The Trial of Chicago 7.
WINNER: The Trial of the Chicago 7.

Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture
The nominations were Da 5 Bloods, Mulan, News of the World, The Trial of Chicago 7 and Wonder Woman 1984
WINNER: Wonder Woman 1984.
