The stars are out, and they’re styled to impress!
There’s so many looks at the Oscars: the trying not to look too pissed off you didn’t win, the look like you’re actually interested in the other people’s speeches, the shock when you do win and, arguably the most important, the red carpet look.
Not only did the stars don their absolute finest in glad rags, but they also showed off some impressive beauty looks. The hair stylists and makeup artists were in overdrive on Sunday night, making sure each and every one of these filmmakers looked the part for the most memorable night of the year.
Whoever did Amanda’s eyes went to TOWN on the purple eye shadow. Paired with a purple-red lip, she knows what suits her skin tone and runs with it. It sort of shouldn’t work, but it totally does. The loose finger wave fringe is the cherry on top, adding a 20’s glam to the look.
She glowy, she’s bronzy, Zendaya’s my winner with this look. Her natural beauty shines through, with natural pink and and bronzed colours. The long wavy hair completes the mermaid vibes and takes this look into another dimension.
Will Regina ever get a look wrong? Never. Regina King is almost mystical with those thickly lined eyes and classic straight cut bob. The silvery blue eyeshadow makes for the perfect accompaniment to such a stunner of a dress.
A bold choice, Kirby has gone for the minimal eye makeup, strong red lip look. Paired with a tight bun, Vanessa’s makeup does all the talking.
The hair is everything. The face framing fringe works in unison with her sharp as ever jawline. The natural pinky colours make her eyes pop, and her skin glow.
Only Halle Berry could have a hairdo this bad and still look stunning. The makeup redeems this look, with deep bronzy eyes and a delicate pink lip. How her skin is that gorgeous at 54 is beyond a mystery.
Emerald Fennell brought a sense of fun to the occasion, with a purple eyeshadow and rosy cheeks. Together with that dress, she’s like a little Oscars spring fairy.
H.E.R looked phenomenal with this electric blue eye shadow and thick lashes. I am in awe of the hair. Who knew a singular twirl of hair could make such an impact. It’s giving me major Jasmine from Aladdin vibes, which is always a good thing.
Robbie debuted these choppy new bangs which stole the show for me. It’s wispy, it’s girl next door, it’s everything you want from a fringe. Her coppery eye shadow and dark pink lip takes this look from girl next door to woman next door.
Sometimes no makeup is the best makeup of all. Zhao shows us that natural is the way to go, and that women no longer have to cake themselves up in order to be seen. Hallelujah.
It’s a classic blue smoky eye and red lip combo, the one that usually ventures into clown territory. But, with her gorgeous skin tone, Angela pulls this off tenfold. Along with her bold red dress, she oozes Hollywood glamour.
