I Used Kim Kardashian’s Moisturiser for a Week and Here’s What I Found

No wonder she has such good skin!

We all compare ourselves to the celebs, looking at that flawless skin wondering if we’ll ever be able to achieve it. Most of the time, we can’t. But, with the French skincare brand Embryolisse, we might be one step closer to these baby soft skin dreams. The brand is loved by Kim Kardashian and Gwenyth Paltrow, both known for their youthful and glowing skin.

To put it to the ultimate test, I tried the Hydra-Cream and Hydra-Serum to see what wonders it does to my skin. The hydra-cream light is best for oil-prone skin. It uses hyaluronic acid and active ingredients from Nymphaea alba, which helps to promote water flow in cells and tissues, keeping skin well hydrated. The serum contains concentrated hyaluronic acid to keep your skin super hydrated all day long. It is best for dry skin types as it restores hydration to troublesome dry skin.

My Experience

It’s time to get real. The moisturiser is the silkiest, smooth formula you’ll ever put on your face, and it leaves your skin feeling just as silky. I am a hormonal acne sufferer, and when using this cream I saw a massive decrease in the number of spots I woke up with each morning (*gasp*) If I learnt one thing from the offset, this is a great moisturiser to use overnight, letting your skin repair itself using the top quality ingredients. I also have an oily skin type and the hydra-cream did exactly what it says, and catered for oil-prone skin. I felt like my skin lasted longer before getting oily, and worked wonders for my acne at the same time.

The hydra serum also made my skin gorgeously smooth and plump. The formula is so gentle and applies so delicately to your skin. Even if you’re feeling a bit tired, the cool, silky formula felt so refreshing; could be something to try putting in the fridge. I don’t usually reach for serums in my everyday routine, but I don’t think I’ll be able to let this one go. Especially for those with dry skin… don’t walk, run to buy this.

The Smell

One of the issues I did find with this moisturizer is that it has a very clinical smell, like something straight out of a hospital. However, sometimes it’s the hidden gems right! It’s often the moisturizers that aren’t packed with skin-irritating fragrances that do best for your skin. They really work. But, if you want some nice smells to brighten up your skincare routine, then this may not be the moisturizer for you.

The Packaging

If you saw this on the shelf, you wouldn’t be immediately drawn to it. Let’s be real, the packaging isn’t exactly cute. Simplicity is certainly the way forward with this packaging, but it is what’s on the inside that counts. And I love what is!

The Price

I mean, you can’t go wrong. This further proved to me that you don’t have to stretch your cash just to find high-quality skincare that WORKS. Why should you have to jeopardize your skin just for the sake of money?

My final verdict

Put simply, I would 100% use this moisturizer and serum again. Within only a week (let me emphasize that) they made my skin softer than it’s ever felt and helped to reduce my acne and oily skin. Something I never thought a product could achieve. So for that, I can get past the smell. Artificial watermelon scent is over-rated anyway. It is so luxurious to put on each morning and you really do feel like Gwyneth Paltrow or Kim Kardashian. Such a treat for your skin.
