I Used Halsey’s Go-To Cleanser for a Week and Here’s What I Thought

The hunt for a perfect cleanser is over

Cleanser is certainly an unsung hero in our skincare routine. All of us know what a cleanser is but how many of us can say that we use it day to day. While a cleanser sounds like such a simple addition to your routine, navigating your way through all the formulas and brands can seem impossible; the options are endless. With companies always launching innovative and complex formulas, with a concoction of different ingredients to supercharge your skin, how are you expected to find the right one?

Finding one that won’t dry out your skin of its natural oils is hard enough but finding the right formula for your skin type is a whole other challenge. Do you go for foam, oil, lotion, or balm? Should I tailor it to my skin type- dry, oily, or sensitive?

Well, one size certainly does not fit all. What may work for someone else won’t always work for you. We all love the feeling of an indulgent cleanser removing makeup after a tiresome day, but it’s worth spending the extra effort to find the one that works for you.

So, once you discover the importance of a cleanser, it can make or break your skincare. After experimenting with one too many facial cleansers, I finally found the one that works for me. And it just so happens, it’s a hit with Halsey too.

The feel

The texture is everything you would expect from a gel cleanser. Just by rubbing the product between your fingertips, you can already tell the formula is super lightweight, smooth, and will have a very gentle application to the skin. The texture is by far from sticky, with a very silky and glossy consistency.

The application

This cleanser is the definition of ‘a little bit goes a long way’. Massaging it into the skin for roughly a minute, you can see the makeup gently lifting away from the skin. Unlike so many cleansers on the market right now, the product maintains its silky texture even when on the skin and doesn’t foam up as many do.

The results

The one thing I was most concerned about when testing a new cleanser was the way it makes my skin feel. I am very lucky in the sense that I rarely suffer from acne or spots, but dry skin is my forte. So many cleansers have made my skin feel incredibly tight and de-hydrated, even after only one use. But for the first time, this one surprised me. While rubbing it into the skin you can practically feel the silky product melting into the skin to hydrate. Even after rinsing with water, my skin felt supple and fresh. That alone for me was a winner!

Better yet, the cleanser did a fantastic job at cleansing and removing the makeup from my skin. Even just by using a pea amount the creamy wash lifted the makeup off my skin and left it looking luminous and conditioned. Even though I couldn’t test it on acne-prone skin, I can only imagine the blend of ingredients would help promote a clear and even complexion.

If I can’t persuade you to test this out, maybe Halsey can….
